On October 2nd 2023 at about 2:05 AM, several Worcester Police officers were in the area of the Badoux Lounge at 802 Main St. They were waiting for a crowd to disperse when they observed a male, identified as Juan Pablo Sanchez-Crespo, twenty-nine-years-old of Greenwood St, aim a gun into the air and fire several shots. Officers observed Mr. Sanchez-Crespo get into a white Acura, and officers approached the vehicle. Mr. Sanchez-Crespo put his foot on the gas and ran over an officer’s foot as he fled the scene.
Officers pursued the Acura, which eventually stopped on Webster Place. Officers waited for backup, then approached the vehicle and conducted a felony vehicle stop. Mr. Sanchez-Crespo eventually complied and was taken into custody. Officers re-traced the path taken by the vehicles, and recovered a loaded handgun on Beacon St.
Mr. Sanchez-Crespo does not have a license to carry firearms. He was placed under arrest and is charged with Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm without a License, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Discharging of a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm, Failure to Stop for Police, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Operating to Endanger.
