On February 21st, 2025, at about 9:33 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of Crompton St for a report of an assault with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers received information that two sanitation workers employed by the city were picking up trash on the street. The trash bag ended up touching a vehicle as they attempted to load it into the truck. Officers received information that a male, later identified as thirty-two-year-old Juan Montalvo, began screaming at the workers and threatened to kill them while holding a firearm by his side.
Officers stopped Mr. Montalvo as he attempted to leave his apartment. He was placed under arrest for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Firearm). Officers applied for a search warrant for his residence. At about 4:30 PM, officers entered the residence and located what appeared to be fentanyl inside the apartment. Mr. Montalvo was additionally charged with Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute.
