On November 15th 2023 at about noon, a Worcester Police officer assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team was on patrol in the area of Irving St when he observed a white Hyundai with no front plate. The officer ran the plate through CJIS, and it came back that the vehicle was uninsured. The officer observed three individuals enter the vehicle, and called for back up before stopping the vehicle on Chandler St.
After the vehicle was stopped, officers began speaking with its occupants. A passenger, identified as Osiris Berry, twenty-years-old of Oak Leaf Circle, pushed one of the officers to the ground and ran away. As this happened, officers saw what they believe to be a handgun in Mr. Berry’s hand. After a short foot pursuit, officers located Mr. Berry on Bancroft St and placed him under arrest.
A Glock handgun with an extended magazine was located near Mr. Osiris, who is charged with Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Resisting Arrest, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, and Trespass. The vehicle was towed.
