On July 21st 2022 at about 10:30 AM two Worcester Police officers assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team were on patrol in the area of Murray Ave when they observed a vehicle change lanes without using a directional. Officers recognized this vehicle from a recent department-wide email in connection with a firearms incident. Officers stopped the vehicle and frisked the operator, Daniel Brito-Alcantara, twenty-six-years-old of Harding St, for weapons.
Officers located several bags of what appeared to be fentanyl and crack cocaine. Mr. Brito-Alcantara was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with intent to Distribute (Fentanyl), Possession of a Class B Substance with intent to Distribute (crack cocaine), a Marked Lanes Violation, and Failure to Signal.
