On April 5th 2022 at about 5:30 PM, Worcester Police Gang Unit officers were on patrol in the area of Kelley Square. Officers observed a black Nissan with a brake light out and observed the operator, Henry Slebo, twenty-five-years-old of Wells St, whom they knew to not have a driver’s license. Officers pulled behind the vehicle, and activated their lights and sirens. The vehicle picked up speed, pulled on to Green St and drove away. Due to the vehicle’s high speed, officers backed off the pursuit.
Shortly after, officers discovered that the same vehicle had crashed into a tree in the area of 624 Franklin St. Officers observed a passenger, identified as Johnathan Beeman, twenty-five-years-old of Brattle St, attempting to exit the vehicle. Mr. Beeman was reaching for the area of his waist, and refused to listen to officer commands. He ran into a backyard on Franklin St, where officers caught up with him. He was placed under arrest. Officers discovered a loaded handgun on the path where Mr. Beeman had run, and discovered several bags of what appeared to be crack cocaine in his pocket. Mr. Beeman does not have a license to carry firearms.
Johnathan Beeman is charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute, and Trespass. Henry Slebo is charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police, Operating Recklessly to Endanger, and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. They will be arraigned in court.
