On July 23rd 2022 at about 9 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Grafton St and Sunderland Rd for a report of a serious motorcycle crash. When officers arrived, they found the motorcycle on the ground and its twenty-four-year-old male operator under a Toyota SUV. With the assistance of the Worcester Fire Department and Worcester EMS, the victim was freed from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased by paramedics. The Crash Reconstruction Unit arrived to investigate the crash.
The initial investigation revealed that the Toyota was traveling on Grafton St toward Sunderland Rd. The motorcycle was traveling straight in the opposite direction. The operator of the Toyota turned left on Sunderland Rd and struck the motorcycle operator, who was knocked off his motorcycle and ended up under the SUV. The operator of the SUV stayed on scene and spoke with investigators.
The investigation is open.
