On January 17, 2023 police arrested Javier Pena, 39, of 37 Providence Street, Worcester. He was charged with Improperly Storing a Firearm, Assault and Battery with a Firearm, Armed Assault and Battery by a Firearm, Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon with Serious Bodily Injury, Armed Assault to Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License x 2, Carrying a Firearm without a License, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.

On January 15th 2023 at about 11:15 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 925 Main St for a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers located a twenty-two-year-old male shooting victim. Officers assisted the man medically until paramedics arrived and transported him to the hospital. Detectives arrived on scene and began the follow-up investigation.
