For Immediate Release: 5/16/2023 2:20 pm
Beginning May 15th, Worcester DPW&P Water Operations will be making operational changes to the water distribution system on Airport Hill. These changes will involve the implementation of another water storage tank and opening and closing of some water distribution system valves. These changes will remain in place for several weeks. This is in preparation for the inspection and cleaning of the Coppage Drive water storage tank which is expected to take about one month to complete.
These changes could produce rusty water and low water pressure on Airport Drive, Coppage Drive, Goddard Memorial Drive, Apricot Street, the Parsons Hill neighborhood and the Pleasant Street area between Tatnuck Square and the Paxton line.
The Worcester DPW&P Water Division does not anticipate any problems occurring, but it is important that residents and businesses in the affected area that experience rusty water or low pressure inform DPW&P immediately by calling Worcester 311 by dialing 311 or by calling 508-929-1300.
