Cleanup efforts continue by the DPW&P after the storm on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. The Forestry Division is working to remove downed public trees and limbs that have fallen into the public way.
Residents should not place private tree or yard debris into the public way and should remove any private debris that may be in the public way. Private tree branches and yard debris should be brought to the City’s yard waste sites:
All three sites are open on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Millbury Street site is the only site that is additionally open on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Yard waste includes leaves, grass, weeds, trimmings, and small brush. Any large branches (larger than three feet in length) must be brought to the Millbury Street Drop-Off Site. The maximum size of branches allowed is eight feet in length or eight inches in diameter. Tree stumps are not accepted at any site. Only biodegradable paper bags may disposed of with the waste. Yard waste will not be accepted at any site from commercial vehicles or landscapers.
Due to the current COVID-19 emergency, all residents exiting their vehicles to drop-off are required to wear masks or face coverings. Residents will be required to empty their own vehicles.
