For Immediate Release: 4/23/2020 2:46 pm
The Street Sweeping Program is designed to collect sand debris—not to collect yard waste.
Do Not Place Leaf or Brush Piles In the Street
Obey posted “No Parking” signs--Violators may be ticketed $50.00 and towed.
Beginning Friday, April 24, 2020, DPW&P will begin residential street sweeping in Route 7 and 8 shown in the green shaded areas on the map online at the following link: http://www.worcesterma.gov/streets/spring-street-sweeping
These street sweeping areas are bounded by Norton Drive, West Boylston Street, Gold Star Boulevard, Millbrook Street, Byron Street, Prescott Street, Grove Street, Salisbury Street, Park Avenue, Highland Street, Wachusett Street, Clearview Avenue, Burncoat Street and Lincoln Street.
Residents in the sweeping area should sweep sidewalk debris into the street. Yard waste must not be placed in the street. Yard Waste will not be collected and violators may be fined.
The DPW&P sweeps residential side streets from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Because the City’s Yard Waste Sites will not open until Governor Baker lifts the current Emergency Order related to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are requesting residents temporarily store their yard waste at home. Once the Order is lifted and the yard waste sites are opened, residents can then take yard waste to the three sites. Illegal dumping of yard waste at the sites while they are closed will not be tolerated and violators will be subject to fines.
