For Immediate Release: 1/18/2025 4:00 pm
Due to the current weather forecast, the Commissioner of Public Works and Parks has determined that a Declared Winter Parking Ban will be in effect on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 10:00 am.
During the Declared Winter Parking Ban, there is NO PARKING on either side of main arteries, bus routes, and streets in the downtown area. On all other streets, parking is only permitted on the odd numbered side of the street, unless otherwise posted.
Starting at 5 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, all municipal parking garages will be free of charge to any vehicle that enters after 5 a.m. until the Declared Winter Parking Ban is lifted. In the case of parking for a special event, event rates apply.
Residents are asked to use one of the municipal garages listed below:
Federal Plaza Garage – 570 Main St.
Pearl & Elm Garage – 20 Pearl St.
Worcester Common Garage – 3 Eaton Place
Union Station Garage – 225 Franklin St.
Major Taylor Blvd Garage – 30 Major Taylor Blvd.
In an effort to improve the safety of our roadways, parking enforcement—including ticketing and towing—will be active during the Declared Winter Parking Ban.
