A series of virtual and outdoor, fishing-themed events are planned for the area beginning in February and running through September of 2021. This diverse program includes opportunities for novice to advanced anglers, and is family friendly.
Events include socially distanced Learn-to-Fish and Learn-to-Ice-Fish through MassWildlife, as well as virtual seminars on the history of local fish populations, and the biology of fly fishing. Several events will provide the opportunity to learn about how water quality issues, like harmful algal blooms and invasive aquatic weeds can be detrimental to fish and provide information on how each of us can help protect and preserve fish habitat.
In total, thirteen events are planned for the year. Ever wanted to try fishing? This is your chance. Those taking one of the "Learn to Fish" classes may reserve and borrow fishing equipment for the day. Events are free and open to the public, although some require registration. Our first event is on February 10, 2021.

The events are sponsored and hosted by the Lake Quinsigamond, Tatnuck Brook, and Indian Lake Watershed Associations, Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation, and Worcester DPW&P Lakes and Ponds Program. Other collaborators include MassWildlife, Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the Lake Quinsigamond Commission.
