WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of two renovation projects at Mulcahy Field at 158 Dorchester St.
Phase one of the updates included renovating an existing little league field into a 50/70 field, a baseball field with a pitching distance of 50 feet and base paths that are 70 feet apart, that can accommodate children ages 11-13. The fieldwork included new dugouts, a backstop, a batting cage, sports lighting, and irrigation. In addition, an accessible walking path with lighting was installed to connect the Acton Street parking lot to the renovated field.
In phase two of updates, renovations included the installation of a new basketball court with lighting and expanded accessible walkways and playground.
