WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester launched a crowdsource map Thursday to solicit input from the public on locations to place 150 to 200 trash and recycling bins throughout the city in 2025.
“Making Worcester a cleaner city is a top priority of the municipality’s new Strategic Plan,” said City Manager Eric D. Batista. “One of the first objectives is to reduce trash and litter in our streets. This is a great opportunity for members of the public to offer input on locations they think are in need of trash and recycling bins to improve our city’s cleanliness. We encourage all residents to engage with the interactive map and select locations.”
Residents viewing the crowdsource map can “drop a pin” on a desired location for trash and recycling bins to be installed. The map will be available for residents to offer input for roughly two months. The municipality will then use the data to inform placement of bins.
The crowdsource map is live on the municipality’s website now.
