Worcester, MA (December 22, 2015) - The Worcester Common Oval outdoor public ice rink will be open during school vacation week with plenty of special events planned, including a skate swap, free skating on New Year's Day and more.
The Oval will be open from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM Monday, December 28th to Thursday, December 31st, and from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 1st. The Oval will be open as usual on Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Skating is free on New Year's Eve with the purchase of a First Night button. Skating is also free on Friday, January 1st, compliments of Hanover Insurance Company.
A skate swap will take place on Wednesday, December 30th. Kids outgrowing their skates? Bring gently used skates to swap for another pair or buy gently worn skates for $5.
Admission for open skate is $2 (free for kids 6 and younger) and $3 for skate rentals, with a $25 refundable deposit per skate rental. Friday nights are Buy One Get One Free admission nights for students of all Worcester-area colleges.
