Worcester Bringing Back Popular Landlord Summit

Worcester, MA (September 28, 2017) - Owners of residential rental properties in Worcester and those thinking about investing are invited to the second Worcester Landlord Summit to gain valuable insight into being a successful property owner.

This event will take place on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at the DCU Convention Center, 50 Foster Street, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no cost to attend. Attendees will also get free admission to the 2016 Worcester Fall Home Show, also at the DCU Center the same day.

The City's first landlord summit in 2016 drew hundreds of current and prospective owners of rental properties in Worcester. Attendees this year will have the chance to meet and hear presentations from city officials - including City Manager Edward M. Augustus, Jr., and the heads of various city departments who commonly interact with property owners - along with subject matter experts in various fields.

Topics to be covered include:

• Running a property like a successful business.
• Sanitary code and what to do with an Order to Correct.
• Fire prevention, including smoke alarm carbon monoxide and sprinkler requirements.
• Working successfully with public service agencies, including Section 8 and other programs.
• Healthy Housing and deleading.
• Proposed legislation that could affect your real estate business.
