The Worcester Fire Department will host a graduation ceremony for its 2019 Recruit Academy on Friday, June 14 at 4 p.m. at Worcester Technical High School. The 2019 Recruit Academy includes 19 recruits from the Worcester Fire Department and four recruits from the Natick Fire Department.
The Training Academy was held during the last 15 weeks from March through June. The recruits were trained in many different areas including: firefighting theory, fire behavior, structural firefighting, building construction, EMS first responder, hazardous materials – operational level, aircraft firefighting, search and rescue, extrication and technical operations awareness.
The Academy included an aggressive classroom portion and an intense practical portion.
