UPDATE: Water was restored at approximately 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night. The trench is backfilled, and crews are being mobilized to pave. Two lanes on Chandler Street are open westbound and one lane is open eastbound.
WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester Department of Public Works & Parks (DPW&P) is working to repair a water main break on Chandler Street near Piedmont Street.
Water is currently off between Oxford Street and King Street. DPW&P crews are on site and working to repair the break. Estimated repair time is eight to 10 hours.
Eastbound traffic on Chandler Street is being detoured to Queen Street, Austin Street, and Piedmont Street. Westbound is open but reduced to one lane.
