For Immediate Release: 11/4/2021 12:05 pm
Worcester electricity customers enrolled in the Worcester Community Choice Aggregation (WCCA) program will save over the next six months as compared to residential customers enrolled in National Grid’s Basic Service.
The WCCA price is fixed at 11.442 cents/kWh until December 2022, while National Grid’s price has risen to 14.821 cents/kWh for the next 6 months.
WCCA benefits include stable pricing with no semi-annual price fluctuations (though future savings cannot be guaranteed), 20 percent local renewable electricity on top of the state-required minimum, and consumer protections.
Anyone with a Worcester electricity account can sign up or opt out at any time with no penalties.
