WORCESTER, Mass. – While this winter has not had much snowfall, recent storms have dropped some heavy snow due to the warmer temperatures, and which has caused a lot of limbs to fall under the weight.
The City of Worcester is looking to accommodate and assist residents with this storm debris. The City’s Residential Drop-Off Center located at 1065 Millbury Street will be open for yard waste drop-off on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023 (rescheduled from Feb. 4) and Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The maximum size of the limbs that can be accepted is eight (8) inches in diameter and eight (8) feet in length. Loose (untied or un-baled) brush can be dropped off at this site; however, loads must be secured and/or covered while transporting loose materials to the drop-off site.
Other yard waste such as leaves, grass clippings, garden materials, shrub/hedge trimmings, weeds, and brush one inch or less in diameter may also be brought to the facility. No tree stumps will be accepted. Proof of Worcester residency is required for drop-off. No yard waste from commercial sources will be accepted.
More information can be found at worcesterma.gov/trash-recycling, and residents may contact Worcester 311 with any questions by dialing 3-1-1.
