WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester is finalizing the development of the first Urban Forest Master Plan and is encouraging the public to share feedback to help determine the final Plan.
The Plan will serve as a roadmap to proactively manage and grow Worcester’s tree canopy. The goal is to create a shared vision for the future of the urban forest to help inspire residents to care, plant, and protect the city’s trees.
The second draft of the Plan was submitted in October 2023. The deadline for public comment on the Plan is Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024. The second draft will be discussed during the Urban Forestry Tree Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024 at 6 p.m.
