WORCESTER – City officials will gather on Sunday, June 12, to dedicate a permanent memorial to Josiah Pickett, a Civil War leader and longtime Worcester public servant.
The dedication of the General Josiah Pickett Memorial Grove will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Rockland Trust Plaza, which is located on Green Street.
Pickett was a member of the 25th Massachusetts Regiment during the Civil War and later served as the city’s postmaster for 20 years.
The public is welcome to attend this special ceremony.
