Worcester, MA (January 4, 2017) - For the fourth straight year, Saint-Gobain will host a community evening of public skating and celebration of the U.S. Luge Team at the Worcester Common Oval on Friday, January 6th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Admission is free. Skate rentals are available for $3 with a $25 deposit per skate rental.
In addition to public skating, and in partnership with Norton, a brand of Saint-Gobain Abrasives, members of the U.S. Luge Team will be at the Worcester Common Oval for a luge demonstration and exhibition. Come join us in congratulating and celebrating the U.S. Luge Team's successful nine medal winning season thus far. Norton is the primary sponsor of the U.S. Luge Team through 2018. Joining the team at the event will be former Olympic luge athletes, including 1998 Olympic Luge Doubles Silver Medalist Gordy Sheer.
"We have hosted Friday Night Skate for the past three years and it is now becoming a fun tradition for us," said Bradley H. Johnson, Vice President, Saint-Gobain Abrasives North America. "We hope the community will take advantage of the free admission to enjoy a night of skating with their families while learning more about the sport of luge."
