WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester Department of Public Works & Parks announced Monday that the Crompton Park pool will not open Monday, July 1, 2024, due to an elevated level of bacteria following an equipment failure. The piece of equipment has since been repaired.
The pool is expected to open Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Today, Bell Pond, Coes Pond Beach, Indian Lake Beach, and Shore Park will open fully staffed with lifeguards, in partnership with the YMCA of Central Massachusetts. The Cristoforo Columbo (East Park) and Greenwood Spray Parks opened last week.
All facilities are open seven days a week, 12 p.m. (noon) to 7 p.m. Beaches and Crompton Park pool will be open until August 18. Spray Parks will close Labor Day, Monday, September 2.
