WORCESTER, Mass. – The Department of Public Works & Parks will hold the second Household Hazardous Waste collection event this calendar year on Wednesday, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Millbury Street Residential Drop-Off site.
This event provides an opportunity for residents to properly dispose of items such as oil-based paints, stains, varnishes, anti-freeze, pesticides, fertilizers, glues, adhesives, old gasoline, kerosene, needles, syringes, fluorescent light bulbs, and other items that cannot be disposed of in the trash.
Proof of residency is required and drop-off is by appointment only. Residents can schedule appointments online at Trash & Recycling-Hazardous Waste Day or by calling Worcester 311 by dialing 311. Detailed information, including a list of what will be accepted and quantity limits, can be found online. Information will also be shared on the Worcester 311 Facebook Page.
