The City of Worcester Department of Public Works and Parks (DPW&P) will host an Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, April 26 on the Worcester Common at 10 a.m.
The event will include the planting of a Pin Oak tree which will be one of more than 200 trees scheduled to be planted in the city this spring.
DPW&P will coordinate this event in cooperation with the Worcester Tree Initiative, Tower Hill Botanic Garden, the Department of Conservation and Recreation - Urban and Community Forestry Program, the USDA and National Grid.
For 2019, the National Arbor Day Foundation has awarded the City of Worcester with the Tree City USA designation for the 33rd consecutive year as well as the Tree City USA Growth Award designation for the 20th consecutive year.
