Worcester, MA (August 23, 2017) - The City of Worcester, Worcester Public Schools and the Worcester Police Department are teaming up to remind parents, students and drivers to be safe on the roads this school year.
City Manager Edward M. Augustus, Jr., District 2 City Councilor Candy Mero-Carlson, Superintendent Maureen Binienda and Police Chief Steven Sargent will host a press event Thursday morning to highlight the City's efforts to make this school year a safe one.
WHAT: Back to School Safety Event
WHERE: Belmont Street Community School, 170 Belmont Street, Worcester
WHEN: 8:30 a.m. Thursday, August 23rd
A representative from AT&T will also be on hand to discuss its partnership with the Worcester Police Department for the company's "It Can Wait" campaign, aimed at partnering with local public safety and local elected officials and talking to students about the dangers of texting and driving.
