The City of Worcester and the Federal Railroad Administration will host a press conference in recognition of Rail Safety Week (September 23-29) and national Trespass Prevention Day on Wednesday, September 26 at 2 p.m. at the rear of 44 Hammond Street.
As part of the Federal Railroad Administration’s Community Trespassing Prevention Initiative, Worcester was selected as one of just four cities to receive rail safety grant funding through the Law Enforcement Strategies for Reducing Trespassing Pilot Grant Program. A total of $93,357 will be awarded to the City of Worcester to conduct locally focused law enforcement of rail trespassing laws.
