WORCESTER, Mass. – Nominations are now being accepted for the 25th annual Woman of Consequence and the 21st annual Young Woman of Consequence awards, presented by the City of Worcester Advisory Committee on the Status of Women. The theme of this year’s awards is Trailblazing through Mentorship.
The Woman of Consequence Award honors a woman that lives, works, and/or volunteers in the City of Worcester who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication and compassion resulting in positive change, and is an outstanding role model of community engagement.
The Young Woman of Consequence Award honors a junior or senior in high school residing in Worcester who shows leadership and tangible results as an agent of change in the City of Worcester.
The 2024 Young Woman of Consequence Award Winner will receive a $10,000 ($2,500/year) scholarship towards tuition at Assumption University. Additionally, all nominees for the Young Woman of Consequence Award will be eligible for a scholarship in the amount of $4,000 ($1,000/year) towards tuition at Assumption University should they choose to attend Assumption University.
The deadline for nominations is midnight Jan. 19, 2024. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

About the Advisory Committee on the Status of Women
The Advisory Committee on the Status of Women was founded by Worcester women and established by City Ordinance in 1977. The Committee is an organized forum for addressing concerns of particular interest to Worcester women. The committee seeks to foster diversity and improve the economic status of women. The Committee’s main function is to formulate, encourage, promote and monitor programs and policies relating to the status of women in the City of Worcester.
