For Immediate Release: 2/11/2022 2:15 pm
The Board of Health will meet on Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. to vote again on a measure to lift the mask mandate in public spaces in the city.
The regulation remains on track to be rescinded effective Feb. 18.
Gary Rosen had not taken an oath of office prior to the board’s meeting on Feb. 7, which means he was not eligible to vote.
Therefore, the Board of Health did not achieve a majority of votes to approve rescinding its emergency regulation requiring face coverings indoors citywide.
Rosen was sworn in on Feb. 10.
The virtual meeting on Feb. 16 includes one agenda item: “Request the Board of Health to rescind city-wide mask mandate to take effect February 18, 2022.”
