UPDATE: The closure of I-290 has been postponed indefinitely due to weather. Please stay tuned for future updates.
Beginning at 11:00 PM on Monday, January 26th through 5:00 AM on Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 a section of I-290 in Worcester will be closed to traffic and detoured to ensure the safety of the traveling public. The closure and detour is to allow for the safe installation of a temporary pedestrian bridge over I-290 immediately parallel to the Belmont Street Bridge over the highway. The temporary footbridge is a component of the rehabilitation of the Belmont Street Bridge and will allow pedestrians to detour safely around the bridge work zone.
