Chairperson Councilor Pacillo recognized Councilor Haxhiaj, who discussed tree protection reforms relative to zoning changes and impact of private developers cutting down trees and the feasibility concerning the Green Advisory Committee providing a letter of support for the master plan to City Council with the Assistant Commissioner of Public Works and Parks and the Chief Sustainability Officer.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo moved for a roll call vote to recommend the item be approved.

Order of Councilor Etel Haxhiaj and Councilor Jenny Pacillo - Request City Manager request Assistant Commissioner of Public Works and Parks provide City Council with an update concerning any planned improvements to the tennis courts at the Newton Square Rotary. # 11e CC September 17, 2024

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo brought forth the following Chairman’s Order: Request City Manager provide City Council with cost analysis report relative to rebuilding the tennis courts at the Newton Square Rotary.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo recognized the Assistant Commissioner of Public Works and Parks, who discussed why the tennis courts renovation is not included in the budget for Doherty High School building.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo moved to recommend the item be filed.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo recognized Councilor Haxhiaj, who discussed outreach to residents abutting the dog park concerning installation of flood light at the dog park, impact of the flood lighting on abutting residents and planned improvements for the dog park with the Assistant Commissioner of Public Works and Parks.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo recognized the Assistant Commissioner of Public Works, who discussed the longevity relative to the motion-sensor solar lighting at the dog park with Speaker #1, Speaker #2 and Speaker #9.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo recognized Councilor Haxhiaj, who discussed working together with the neighborhood group and the Parks Department to find the lighting solutions for the dog park.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo brought forth the following Chairman’s Order: 1) Request City Manager provide outreach to the neighborhood abutting the Beaver Brook Dog Park concerning the installation of lighting at said dog park; and 2) Request City Manager request Assistant Commissioner of Public Works and Parks coordinate with the District Councilor to explore solutions relative to lighting challenges at the Beaver Brook Dog Park.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo then discussed process concerning to finding the lighting solutions for Beaver Brook Dog Park and plans relative to building of new dog parks in the city with the Assistant Commissioner of Public Works and Parks.

Chairperson Councilor Pacillo moved to recommend the item be held.
