Rose - Request Standing Committee on Traffic and Parking conduct a meeting to discuss speeding on Beechmont St., Tyson Rd., Harrington Way, Squantum St. and Coolidge Rd. Further, request City Manager provide City Council with speed enforcement reports relative to Beechmont St., Tyson Rd., Harrington Way, Squantum St. and Coolidge Rd.

| | | | | | Chairperson Councilor Colorio read the item and recognized the WPD Lieutenant, who provided an overview of the data collected from the WPD traffic reports on the various streets discussed on the item, as well as the procedures used by WPD to collect said data.
Chairperson Councilor Colorio recognized Councilor Rose, who discussed the various requests and correspondences he has had about Tyson Rd. and the cost associated with state traffic studies and the potential for making the street a one-way with the WPD Lieutenant and Director of Engineering.
Chairperson Councilor Colorio recognized the Director of Engineering, who discussed the data collected by WPD as it relates to Tyson Rd. and discussed the potential for truck restrictions, speed humps and traffic studies being installed and conducted on Tyson Rd.
Chairperson Councilor Colorio put forth the following Chairman's Order through Councilor Rose: Request City Manager provide City Council with a traffic study exploring making Tyson Rd. a one-way street, installing speed humps and restricting the truck traffic on the street.
Chairperson Councilor Colorio recognized Councilor Bergman, who discussed costs associated with traffic studies to restrict truck traffic on Tyson Rd., as well as the process for changing the speed limit on the street with the Director of Engineering and the WPD Lieutenant.
Chairperson Councilor Colorio put forth the following Chairman’s Order through Councilor Bergman: Request City Manager request Commissioner of Public Works provide City Council with a report relative to the expected impact of traffic issues associated with converting a street from a private street to a public street. Said report should also be made available to individuals pursing the possibility of converting their streets from private roads to public roads.
Chairperson Councilor Colorio, Councilor Rose and Councilor Bergman all discussed the various speeding issues associated with Beechmont St., Harrington Way, Squantum St. and Coolidge Rd. with the Director of Engineering and WPD Lieutenant.
Chairperson Councilor Colorio put forth the following Chairman’s Order through Councilor Bergman: Request City Manager provide City Council with a report concerning any equipment that would be of help to the WPD – Traffic Division to better monitor speeding and traffic issues throughout the city.
Chairperson Councilor Colorio moved for a roll call vote to place the item on file. Placed on file on a roll call vote of 3 Yeas and 0 Nays
