Chairman’s Order request the
Administration provide a comprehensive report to the City Council concerning
the block of Franklin Street between Grafton Street and Harding Street
addressing the following points:
a. the feasibility
of installing diagonal parking on a temporary basis,
b. the impact that
closing one-side of the street would have on the alignment with the portion of
Franklin Street that lies under the railroad tracks,
c. improved signage
and lighting,
d. the general
cleanliness of the area surrounding the inter-modal station.
Chairman’s Order request the
Commissioner of the Department of Public Works to install upgraded signage,
lane markings and crosswalk enhancements in Grafton Street at Washington Square
between the commuter parking lots and the corner of Union Station.
Chairman’s Order request the
Commissioner of the Department of Public Works provide a report to the City
Council setting forth the scope of work and cost estimates and schematic
drawings for a two-way Franklin Street for the block between Harding Street and
Worcester Center Boulevard.
