Communication of the City Manager transmitting informational communication relative to an update concerning the current Triage Center on Queen Street. # 8.4C CM March 11, 2014

Attachments

Charles Gagnon, CEO of South Middlesex Opportunity Council appeared to respond to questions concerning the operation of the Triage Center, 25 Queen Street.
Amanda Wilson provided the Committee with the following Triage Center census data obtained during unannounced visits on the following dates:
December 18, 2014 – upwards of 120,
December 30, 2014 – 108 and
February 21, 2015 – 106.

Chairman's Orders

Request City Manager provide City Council with plans with reference to the 25 Queen Street Triage Center including consideration of a seasonal or second shelter not necessarily under the jurisdiction of SMOC.

Request City Manager request the Office of the State Medical Examiner and the South Middlesex Opportunity Council provide the City Council, once available, with all public information documenting the currently unexplained death discovered inside the 25 Queen Street Triage Center.

Request City Manager update City Council within 30 days concerning the change in protocols at the 25 Queen Street Triage Center relating to Single-Room-Occupancies.

Request City Manager provide City Council with a response to the Order approved on February 10, 2015 relating to the homeless population within 30 days.
