At the conclusion of the public hearing portion of the Joint Meeting, the Councilors addressed their concerns and questions to the City Manager and representatives from Berkeley.

 

Ms. Smith Bacon introduced Marcella Lancome from Coast and Harbor Associates, Inc., Lynnfield, MA who addressed the Joint Committee concerning the contract they have with Berkeley for certain services concerning the hiring of minorities for the City Square project.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager provide City Council with monthly reports from Berkeley Investments concerning recruitment and hiring goals for minorities and Worcester residents for work in the CitySquare project.

 

Chairman’s Order that, having conducted a public hearing on the Communication of the City Manager relative to the CitySquare project, together with the proposed amendments to the District Improvement Financing Plan, the revised CitySquare Loan Order and the proposed amendment to the CitySquare Permit Fees Ordinance, the Joint Committee hereby recommends that the City Council:

1.     Approves the Amendment to the CitySquare District Improvement Financing Plan,

2.     Advertisement of the CitySquare Loan Order, and

3.     Advertisement of the proposed amendment to the CitySquare Permit Fees Ordinance.
