Councilor Bergman then moved to, “Request City Manager provide City Council with a report clarifying how the Statehouse’s reform legislation impacts the city’s implementation of a body camera program for the Worcester Police Department. Said report should include information as to whether there could be costs saved if the city were to hold off implementation, whether funds spent on the program could be reimbursed if the program were pursued prior to the Statehouse’s legislation and the timetable for such legislation. (See Item #16d CC). Mayor Petty recognized the City Manager, who spoke concerning the item. Mayor Petty recognized Councilor King, who moved to suspend the rules to allow him to speak beyond the traditionally allocated amount of time.
