Transmitting Informational Communication Relative to the City's Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB) Liability.

FROM THE COMMITTEE ON TRAFFIC AND PARKING - Authorize and Request the Commissioner of Public Works & Parks, in accordance with Section 45 of Chapter 13 of the Revised Ordinances of 2008, install a passenger zone on Foster St. north side from a point 399' east of Commercial St. to a point 420' east of Commercial St.

Request City Manager carry out the existing Worcester Government Access TV Operating Rules and Policy which restricts usage of Channel 12 to City of Worcester Government or governmental units that request and receive permission from the City of Worcester for usage. Request City Manager provide City Council with an update concerning the current situation of the Worcester Tornadoes and plans to make certain professional baseball remains in Worcester. (Palmieri, Petty)

Addresses of properties assisted through the program including Council District; 2.) Type of home. (Multi-Single, condo, etc…); and 3). Date of sale. (Russell, Economou)

Request City Manager request the appropriate city staff remove the overgrowth encroaching upon the entire length of the public sidewalk in front of 28 Claffey Avenue. (Economou)

Request City Manager request the appropriate city staff to repaint all crosswalks in Salisbury Street in the interest of public safety. (Economou)

Request City Manager request the appropriate city staff to repaint the crosswalk in the intersection of Country Club Boulevard and Pleasant Valley Drive. (Economou)

Request City Manager provide City Council with a detailed report revealing the amount of federal, state and/or city funds that have been spent in each of the 5 city districts, over the past 10 years towards the creation of new housing, new rental units, and those that have been rehabilitated. Further request that said report include the name of the developer(s) who were granted the funding and property addresses. (Economou, Russell)

Request City Manager request the Superintendent of the Worcester Public Schools report to City Council concerning progress being made to refurbish and return to operation the swimming pool at South High Community School. (Germain)

Request City Manager recommend to City Council an ordinance similar to the “Unruly Gathering Ordinance” in effect in Narragansett, Rhode Island in light of the fact that recent enforcement actions relied upon to control gatherings have not resulted in a permanent solution to the problems negatively affecting quality of life in our neighborhoods in close proximity to colleges. Request City Manager report on how the city tests and monitors mosquitos and mosquito borne diseases such as West Nile and EEE which are expected to peak in the next two months. (Lukes)

That the Loan Order adopted on August 21, 2001, which Authorized the Borrowing of the Sum of Two Million Dollars to be Appropriated to Account #91C711, Building Rehabilitation for the Purpose of Making Ordinary Maintenance repairs to Public Building Owned by the City be amended as follows: That the sum of Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000.00) representing the balance of the above Loan Order be appropriated to Account # 91C775, Building Rehabilitation Centrum Center, for the purpose of making extra ordinary repairs to the Centrum Center, and for the payment of all costs incidental and related thereto.
