Request the Retirement Board report how many voluntary and involuntary accidental disability retirement applications have been filed by department including the school department for the fiscal year 2006 and the fiscal year 2007 to the present. (Lukes)

Request City Manager provide a legal opinion as to the appropriateness of home rule legislation to give the Worcester Retirement Board authority to fund the city's pre-employment physicals for prospective city employees. (Lukes)

Request City Manager report whether or not a fitness and wellness program is mandatory for city employees and the manner in which such a program is being implemented so as to reduce accidental disabilities. (Lukes)

Request City Manager report what types of existing early intervention program/job safety policies the city provides for its problematic employees (for example stress, addictions etc.) and other employees. (Lukes)

Request City Manager report to City Council concerning any proposed new regulations that may be imposed on the Sewer Treatment Plant and further, provide estimated cost to the rate payer. (Clancy)

Request City Manager apply for state aid under the MA Opportunity Relocation and Expansion program which provides cities and towns funding for public works projects such as streets and water and sewer lines to support business expansions that promise to create within two years 100 or more jobs that will last at least five years. That the Worcester City Council does hereby urge the Massachusetts Legislature, in the strongest possible manner, to oppose any effort to eliminate the municipal consent process for competitive providers of cable television service, until, at a minimum, a thorough evaluation is completed of the current system and the effect of any proposed changes on local government residents, competitors and incumbents is analyzed. Lukes - Request City Manager request the City Solicitor to draft an ordinance which permanently reduces the salary of the City Council to that amount which was in effect on January 9, 2007 and which ordinance eliminates any cost of living increase. Order of Mayor Timothy P. Murray - That the ordinance relative to the Police Department License Board as it relates to taxi regulations be rescinded. (Tabled - Murray April 25, 2006)

Order of Councilor Barbara G. Haller and Councilor Gary Rosen - Request the City Manager take all steps to have the WRTA #11 bus rerouted to serve the Island part of Harding Street (south of Kelley Square) to take residents, especially the elderly, to and from the Route 20 Fair Shopping Plaza. Further request that this service be provided several times in the mornings and again in the afternoons, both outbound and inbound. This service was formerly provided by the old #4 Millbury City Line and eliminated on January 28th, 2006 creating a serious hardship and reduction in the quality of life for residents in the Green Island neighborhood.
