A major goal in the first year of the Green Worcester Plan (GWP) was to form a Green Worcester Advisory Committee comprised of non-governmental stakeholders to serve as the forum for information exchange and to advise on the City's sustainability and resilience activities. The Committee was formed and began meeting at the beginning of 2022. The committee members play a critical role in the implementation of the GWP.

In 2021, the City and its community members developed a comprehensive and holistic Green Worcester Sustainability and Resilience Strategic Plan (GWP) which charts a roadmap to bring sustainability values to all aspects of city life. We heard from our city's diverse community to make sure that this plan reflects your ideas and priorities. The Plan draws on our city's unique strengths and challenges, identifies environmental and sustainability priorities and includes short and longer-term actions.
The Green Worcester Plan won two awards from the American Planning Association, including a 2022 Community-Wide Award (View Award)
